Lower back pain can happen for many reasons.it could be a disc issue or it might be an Sacral Illiac(SI) joint issue. Today im going to put some focus on the SI joint. This joint is located in the small of your back, you may know this place as the dimples in your lower back. Those dimples are where the sacrum and illiac connect. The problem with this area is it can move. When it does you typically feel pain on one side. You may also feel a pain on front of your leg that can wrap around toward the ground. If a shift has taken place massage may not help the problem but a simple strain counter strain exercise will help and may even get rid of the pain.
The exercise is i bit complex to explain but you can do it by yourself or with a partner.
By yourself- in a standing position with a counter in front of you raise you leg up and place it on the counter, resting only the heel of your foot on the counter. Note raise the leg you feel the tightness in the quad or hip flexors. You should feel a stretch in the hamstring. Keeping the leg straight, press your heel into the counter as hard as you can while flexing the opposite leg. Picture scissors closing only the leg don't actually move. Hold this for about 5- 10 seconds the release and repeat 3 times a day.
Let me know how it works out for you.
